Job description

The purpose of this job is to provide intermediate to complex-level application development, software support, and analyses to determine programming requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

  • Develops and maintains software applications, integrations, mobile apps, and websites.

  • Utilizes various software in support of daily operations. Provides primary technical support for designated systems.

  • Provides customer support. Troubleshoots complex issues and implements change requests, procedures, and processes to accomplish customer goals.

  • Analyzes web applications for security vulnerabilities and implements corrections as required to ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Ensures software applications are up to date and adheres to business rules.

  • Serves as liaison between vendor and business units to ensure issue resolution. Monitors tickets, assists vendor representatives with finding solutions, and escalates critical issues.

  • Trains and educates city staff on software functionality and processes. Creates standard operating procedures (SOP's) and client instructions.

  • Collaborates with business users to develop use-case scenarios. Analyzes and understands business needs to gather requirements and identify cost and time-saving opportunities.

  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in software development and support.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position Knowledge of:

  • Software functionality and performance.

  • C#, PHP, SQL, MySQL, PowerShell, JSON, XML, JQuery, JavaScript, WordPress, Android SDK, X-Code, and CSS.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, Visual Studio Pro/Code, and Power BI.

Skill in:

  • Performing business and risk analyses.

  • Thinking critically.

  • Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the audience's needs.

Ability to:

  • Compile, organize, interpret, and communicate data and results concisely.
