Job description

BCI is seeking a skilled DevOps Consultant to support a direct client in Jersey City, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure supporting critical applications. You will focus on ensuring system stability, consistency, security, and automation across environments, while collaborating closely with development teams for end-to-end deployment. This role will start out as a 6-month contract with possible future extensions. Required to be on-site 2-3 days per week. Please read all the job details and information below., CI/CD & Infrastructure Automation

  • Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines of moderate complexity
  • Administer and support Windows and Linux environments
  • Configure and maintain build tools and pipelines
  • Troubleshoot build failures and ensure successful end-to-end deployments
  • Automate provisioning and management of AWS resources
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure design and implementation

Production Support & Troubleshooting

  • Support developers with environment-related issues and server troubleshooting
  • Monitor production systems and ensure uptime and performance
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents and outages
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions

Production Migrations

  • Execute production deployments and migrations, including off-hours support when required
  • Ensure smooth transition of systems with minimal downtime

Developer Tooling Support

  • Assist development teams with setup and maintenance of tools such as:
  • Git repositories
  • Monitoring and logging tools
  • Enable efficient development workflows through proper tooling support

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in:
  • Linux and Windows Administration
  • IIS (Internet Information Services) management
  • Strong understanding of IIS architecture and configuration
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with AWS (EC2, S3, CloudFormation) is required
  • Scripting experience with: Bash, PowerShell, Python

Familiarity with:

  • REST APIs, HTTP methods (GET/POST), headers, response codes
  • XML configuration and web application concepts
  • Any experience with observation tools like New Relic and/or Datadog a big plus!
  • Team is building AI Agents so any experience with AWS Bedrock a big plus!
