An opportunity is available for a Senior Data Analyst to join a team of qualified professionals supporting a modernization effort. The selected candidate will execute data migration activities, including data profiling, data quality assessment, and validation of transformation logic. This position supports initiatives at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), ensuring migrated data is accurate and aligned with business and regulatory requirements., * Perform detailed data analysis in support of migration execution, including data profiling of legacy data sources.
- Validate data mapping documents and ensure alignment with defined migration rules and business requirements.
- Reconcile migrated data across source and target systems to confirm completeness and accuracy.
- Analyze data quality reports, identify anomalies, and collaborate with technical teams to support root cause analysis.
- Document data lineage, transformation logic, and data flows to support auditability and traceability.
- Support the development and refinement of data quality rules, metrics, and dashboards.
- Coordinate with data engineers, solution architects, and business analysts to ensure migration artifacts remain current.
- Contribute analytical insights that guide decision-making for remediation activities.
- Ensure adherence to standards, regulatory requirements, and data governance expectations.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint planning activities.
Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree with five years of experience, a Master's degree with three years of experience, or a PhD with no experience is required.
Experience: Must have demonstrated experience performing data analysis within large-scale data migration or modernization programs. Experience analyzing data quality results and supporting issue triage and root cause analysis is also required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with SQL and hands-on experience with relational databases, legacy data sources, and structured/unstructured datasets are necessary. Strong skills in data profiling, metadata analysis, and validation of ETL or data transformation specifications are required. Additional required technologies include Word.
Additional Requirements: U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must possess the ability to document data lineage and analytical findings in clear formats and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to work within Agile environments and collaborate in cross-functional teams is needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting CMS, Federal Healthcare, or other large government programs.
- Experience with data migration to cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with industry data governance frameworks and data quality standards.
- Experience with data quality tools, ETL tools, or visualization platforms (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of legacy system structures or enterprise modernization initiatives.
- Certifications related to data analytics, cloud platforms, or data management.
- Experience supporting healthcare-related data, including an understanding of regulatory requirements.
