This position requires a Senior Functional Test Lead to carry out procedures ensuring that payroll application products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. The successful candidate will evaluate and design testing procedures, develop testing scripts and plans, and prepare complex data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows. This role involves conducting testing of complex features, verifying fixes, and ensuring all testing documentation complies with required standards., * Carry out procedures to ensure payroll application products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements.
- Evaluate and design testing procedures to ensure software meets established quality standards.
- Develop and write testing scripts and plans to ensure software functions as expected.
- Prepare complex data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows.
- Conduct testing of complex features and verify fixes.
- Monitor and document testing procedures and results for compliance with required standards.
- Perform functional testing, including Smoke, Regression, and End-to-End (E2E) testing.
- Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for all staff assigned to a specific job.
- Train and mentor less experienced personnel.
Requirements
Experience: A minimum of thirteen (13) years of experience in software development, software quality assurance/control, or a related field. Extensive experience with formal software testing for complex applications, including identifying and documenting defects, and authoring quality-related documentation like test plans and reports. Experience with multiple defect tracking tools is also required.
Technical Skills: Proficient in running manual tests and incorporating automated testing processes. Knowledge of the software development cycle and testing methodologies. Payroll domain knowledge is required, including understanding of payroll cycles, tax calculations, deductions, and federal, state, and local regulations. Experience using AI-driven tools for test script generation is necessary.
The candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years and cannot have more than 6 months of travel outside the United States within the last five years, excluding military service., * A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile Scrum, and VersionOne or an equivalent tool.
- Knowledge of and experience with SDLC practices.
- Experience with payroll systems and processing.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools (e.g., CoPilot, WatsonX, ReDux) for code analysis or pattern recognition.
- Mainframe knowledge is a plus.
