Palo Alto Firewall Engineer - Hybrid/New York

We are seeking a skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimize Palo Alto Networks security solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls and a solid understanding of network security principles to protect enterprise environments., * Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PA-Series, VM-Series)

• Manage security policies, NAT rules, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), and threat prevention profiles
• Configure and manage Panorama for centralized firewall management
• Monitor firewall performance, logs, and alerts; troubleshoot network and security issues
• Implement security best practices, including application control, URL filtering, and SSL decryption
• Perform firewall rule reviews, audits, and policy optimization
• Support network segmentation and Zero Trust security initiatives
• Collaborate with network, security, and IT teams to support business requirements
• Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and network diagrams
• Participate in change management and on-call support as required

• Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Hands-on knowledge of Panorama
• Experience with IPSec and SSL VPN configurations
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and network security concepts
• Experience with security features such as Threat Prevention, WildFire, URL Filtering, and App-ID
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSE. NGFE)
• Experience with cloud firewalls (AWS, VM-Series)
• Knowledge of automation using APIs, Ansible, or Terraform

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in network security or firewall engineering
