Job description
Assist in planning, designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining databases under the guidance of senior team members. Support database upgrades and migrations to new servers or versions. Gather and analyze business requirements and system specifications to support database design and project planning. Apply server updates and service packs with supervision. Learn and assist in implementing basic high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as backups, restores, and recovery procedures. Perform corrective maintenance by conducting root cause analysis and helping resolve issues affecting database performance or application data. Help automate routine database tasks using scripts and support disaster recovery documentation and drills. Follow database security protocols and assist in maintaining access controls. Participate in monitoring database performance, reviewing server disk space, and checking database logs. Help document data standards, procedures, and metadata definitions. Assist in basic data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes. Collaborate with developers and project teams working with technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Python, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, HTML, CSS, React, Angular, REST Web Services, JSON, XML, WebLogic/WebSphere, Postman, GIT, JUnit, Tomcat Web Server, IBM Mobile First, Maven, AWS, TOAD, and Oracle.
Requirements
Degree requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field of study with 1 year experience or associate's degree in computer science, engineering or related field of study with 3-year experience, Experience to include gathering and analyzing business requirements and system specifications; corrective maintenance by performing root cause analysis; and working with: Java, Java Scrip, Python; J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Rest Webservices, JSON, XML, Web Logic/Web Sphere, Postman, GIT, Junit, Tomcat Web Server, IBM Mobile First, Maven, AWS, TOAD and Oracle.
