Job description
Insight Global is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (TS/SCI + Poly) to support a client onsite in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you'll operate in a Tier 2/3 capacity, troubleshooting production issues across Linux systems, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud infrastructure. You'll focus on maintaining system stability, resolving escalated Tier 1 issues, and improving overall reliability as the platform continues to scale. Daily work includes investigating performance issues, applying patches and fixes, and partnering with engineering teams to prevent recurring problems and improve operational processes. You'll also participate in an on-call rotation (primarily 5pm-5am) to support the environment during off-hours as it moves toward a 24/7 operational model.
Requirements
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

5+ years of systems engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field (4 additional years of experience can be substituted for degree)

5+ years of Linux systems engineering experience (RHEL preferred)

Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP acceptable)

Hands-on experience supporting Kubernetes in production environments, including troubleshooting pod failures, deployment issues, and cluster performance

Experience patching, hardening, and maintaining Linux systems

Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Packer, Nessus, Jira, or Confluence

Experience deploying or installing applications in cloud-based environments

Active Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC certification - Experience with cybersecurity concepts (threats, vulnerabilities, patching, boundary defense, auditing, authentication)

Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation, or configuration management

Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, ActiveMQ, and/or NiFi
Benefits & conditions
$86.56/hr to $100.23/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
