Job description

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Sr. System Administrator / System Engineer - Linux with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Columbia, Maryland. This position supports a high-availability mission environment where you'll administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise Linux infrastructure supporting critical national security missions.

In this role, you will manage Linux servers, VMware virtual infrastructure, enterprise middleware, and system automation while ensuring the availability, security, and performance of mission-critical services. You'll work alongside a collaborative engineering team to deliver reliable, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions in a secure production environment.

As a Sr. System Administrator / System Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to support innovative enterprise technologies, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and contribute to high-impact mission systems while expanding your expertise in Linux administration, virtualization, and automation., * Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux environments supporting mission-critical systems.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and CentOS operating systems.
  • Support VMware virtual machine creation, configuration, and operations.
  • Support JBoss installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability to ensure reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot Linux operating system, middleware, and virtualization issues.
  • Perform system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and configuration management.
  • Support infrastructure automation and system administration activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to maintain secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations.
  • Support mission operations in a high-availability production environment.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • Security+ certification required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Linux System Administrator/System Engineer.
  • Extensive experience administering Linux operating systems, including CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Experience creating, configuring, and operating VMware virtual machines.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-availability operational environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Linux administration certification.
  • Extensive experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and configuring JBoss.
  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible or Terraform.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage technologies.
  • Experience with networking concepts and administration.
  • Experience implementing and supporting security compliance requirements.
  • Experience with authentication technologies and services.
  • Experience developing automation scripts using Shell scripting and/or Python.
  • Experience administering physical servers.
  • Oracle Database knowledge and/or database administration experience.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
  • Currently holds or has recently held SYS3 PRIVAC level access.
