Job description

Together, we take the next step in the energy transition. As a Senior Data Engineer - Data Core, you help our team grow from pipeline operators into fully-fledged data engineers. Your first mission? Designing, migrating, and building our pipelines into a brand-new data orchestration layer. After that, your role will partially shift towards an advisory focus: supporting the organization in making the most of our self-service platform and designing stable, 'ownerless' (external) pipelines.

In this role, you will work on:

  • Knowledge sharing & collaboration: You work closely with your teammates. Through pair programming and code reviews, you support them in adopting test-driven development and engineering standards in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Architecture & design: You design scalable, distributed data pipelines and reproducible transformations.
  • Automation: You implement secure, consistent CI/CD processes and deploy containerized data applications on modern cloud platforms.

Do you not recognize yourself in every single point below? No problem. We believe software engineering skills are transferable, and we hire primarily based on potential, motivation, and willingness to learn. If you have a solid foundation and the right mindset, we will support you in developing the rest of the tech stack., We are looking for an experienced developer who brings stability and enjoys creating structure

Requirements

Do you have experience in Python?, * Data engineering: You have extensive experience designing stable data infrastructures. You are comfortable modeling and processing data and enjoy making and explaining the right technical decisions together with the team.

  • Language-agnostic: Our main language is Python, so you are familiar with it (or you have strong experience in another language and are willing to learn Python quickly).
  • Software engineering foundation: You have solid experience as a data or software engineer in a production environment, applying best practices such as modular code, unit testing, and Infrastructure as Code to data pipelines.
  • Adaptability: You can improve complex architectures step by step and iteratively, without disrupting production environments.
  • Psychological safety: Your communication style is coaching and patient. You enjoy helping others grow technically without imposing rigid viewpoints.
