Job description

Join Imperial College London's Digital Media Lab as a Generative Motion Graphics & Interactive Media Designer and help shape the future of digital storytelling and immersive education. In this role, you will design and produce high-quality motion graphics, animated content, and interactive media for a wide range of projects, from educational films and digital campaigns to immersive XR experiences.

Working at the intersection of creativity, technology and education, you will play a key role in enhancing our motion graphics and post-production capabilities by integrating generative AI tools, creative technologies, and evolving media workflows into production processes. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of producers, developers, designers, and XR practitioners to explore new creative approaches, supporting innovative, scalable, and efficient content production across the Digital Media Lab.

What you would be doing

  • Designing and producing high-quality motion graphics, animated sequences, explainer content, title design, and multimedia assets for digital and immersive media projects
  • Supporting the integration of Generative AI workflows into motion graphics and post-production processes
  • Exploring opportunities where AI-assisted tools and automation can complement and enhance existing creative production workflows
  • Creating visually engaging content for educational media, digital campaigns, social media, interactive applications, and XR experiences
  • Working extensively in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator to create production-ready motion graphics assets
  • Supporting video editing, compositing, typography animation, post-production, and visual effects workflows
  • Experimenting with AI-assisted workflows for concept development, asset generation, animation support, localisation, compositing, editing, and content adaptation
  • Collaborating with producers, editors, developers, XR teams, UX designers, and creative stakeholders across multidisciplinary projects
  • Assisting with integration of motion graphics into Unity, Unreal Engine, web-based applications, and interactive media platforms
  • Developing reusable templates, motion systems, production toolkits, and shared asset libraries
  • Researching and evaluating emerging Generative AI tools and creative technologies relevant to media production
  • Supporting experimentation with interactive media, real-time graphics, immersive storytelling, and AI-assisted content creation
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices relating to AI-enhanced creative workflows with wider creative teams
  • Maintaining high visual quality standards, consistency, and efficient production practices across projects

Requirements

Do you have experience in Unreal Engine?, * Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and wider Creative Suite workflows.

  • Strong experience in motion graphics, animation, and post-production environments.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, broadcast-standard motion graphics and multimedia content.
  • Hands-on experience using Generative AI tools within creative production workflows.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, visual storytelling, and design fundamentals.
  • Experience with compositing, typography animation, editing, and visual effects workflows.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary creative and technical teams.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple briefs.
  • Interest in interactive media, immersive storytelling, and emerging creative technologies.
