Job description

The Junior IT Analyst provides hands-on technical support and assistance across the organization's infrastructure environment. Working under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager and with close mentorship from the Senior IT Analyst, this role performs a broad range of tasks spanning systems administration, network support, Microsoft 365 user administration, telephony, and cybersecurity monitoring. This position is designed for a motivated early-career professional eager to grow technical skills across all infrastructure disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for end-users across hardware, software, network connectivity, and Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Assist with administration of Windows Server environments: user account management, group policy application, and file share permissions.

  • Perform routine Microsoft 365 administration tasks: create/modify/disable user accounts, mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint sites, and NinjaOne device enrollment.

  • Monitor network infrastructure alerts, uptime dashboards, and security event logs; escalate anomalies to the IT Manager.

  • Assist with patching cycles: apply OS updates, firmware updates, and software patches to endpoints and servers per approved schedules.

  • Assist with VoIP/phone system administration: add/modify extensions, voicemail, and call routing under IT Manager guidance.

  • Maintain hardware inventory, asset tracking records, and software license documentation.

  • Perform workstation imaging, deployment, and decommissioning tasks.

  • Assist with cybersecurity tasks including running vulnerability scans, reviewing reports, and following up on remediation items.

  • Troubleshoot Laser Printers and Label Printers.

  • Quote equipment orders for Branch Managers as needed, and coordinate setup or do on-site installation.

  • Document technical procedures and update knowledge base articles.

  • Participate in on-call rotation as experience and skill level develop.

  • Assist with data center or wiring closet organization, labeling, and physical documentation.

  • Log, update, and close helpdesk tickets accurately in the IT service management system.

  • Perform other infrastructure support tasks as assigned based on current project needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1-3 years of IT support or systems administration experience in a professional environment.

  • Foundational knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi.

  • Strong troubleshooting mindset with a desire to learn and grow across all infrastructure disciplines.

  • Excellent customer service skills and professional communication in person, via phone, and email.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification (or actively pursuing).

  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification.

  • Exposure to help desk ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira, etc.).

  • Basic familiarity with PowerShell or scripting concepts.

  • Schedule may include occasional early morning or evening hours for maintenance windows with advance notice.

  • This is a full-time, hybrid position. Will be expected to be in office at least 2-3 days per week, with remote work remaining days.

  • This position is structured as a developmental role; the incumbent is expected to advance technical skills with the goal of eventual promotion to a Mid-Level or Senior Analyst position.

  • Performance milestones and development objectives will be co-created with the IT Manager and reviewed semi-annually.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year, * 401(k)
