Job description

We are seeking an IT Administrator Associate to support our day-to-day IT operations and hybrid infrastructure environment. This role will focus primarily on Microsoft 365 administration, user support, endpoint management, and routine infrastructure tasks while assisting with networking, cloud services, and security systems.

The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and eager to expand their skills across networking, cloud infrastructure, and systems administration. This role works closely with senior IT staff and engineering teams to maintain reliable and secure systems supporting mission-critical satellite operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including user accounts, licensing, groups, SharePoint permissions, and Entra ID.
  • Perform employee onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Provide desktop and endpoint support for Windows and Linux systems.
  • Manage IT inventory and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with Cisco Firepower firewall administration and basic policy changes.
  • Support UniFi networking equipment including switches and wireless access points.
  • Perform basic cabling, patching, and hardware installations.
  • Assist with AWS administration tasks, including EC2 instance management and certificate rotations.
  • Support backup and recovery procedures.
  • Troubleshoot VPN, network connectivity, and endpoint issues.
  • Respond to day-to-day IT requests and service tickets.
  • Escalate complex infrastructure and networking issues to senior IT staff.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance activities., * Work at the intersection of cloud and on-prem infrastructure supporting real-world satellite missions.
  • Collaborate with a small, highly capable engineering team where your work has a direct impact.
  • Gain hands-on experience with AWS, networking, virtualization, Linux, and security technologies.
  • Grow into Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Operations, or DevSecOps roles as the organization scales.
  • Enjoy a hybrid work environment with four days on-site and one remote day each week.

Physical Demands

This position may require lifting up to 20 lbs and occasional standing, bending, and working with lab equipment.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems administration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows administration and Active Directory/Entra ID concepts.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, and VPN technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and SharePoint administration.
  • Familiarity with Cisco firewalls or networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with UniFi networking products.
  • Exposure to AWS services such as EC2 and Route53.
  • Basic Linux administration experience.
  • Familiarity with VMware ESXi or virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam.
  • Basic scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or AWS Cloud Practitioner certifications.
