Job description
- Perform system design, development, and integration for all technical and engineering IT activities related to Army DCO initiatives.
- Set up, document, and configure operating systems and applications, while ensuring compliance with security best practices and STIGs.
- Conduct technical evaluations, requirements analysis, functional analysis, and design synthesis.
- Prepare and deliver system engineering documents, briefings, and memorandums.
- Support long-range systems engineering program planning and assist leaders in prioritizing resource allocation.
- Interact with vendors and technology providers to test and evaluate products for use in Army Defensive Cyber Operations.
- Use DevSecOps principles, CI/CD workflows, Gitlab, Ansible, Terraform, and in some cases, PowerShell, Python and Bash for development, security, and integration of different types of technologies.

SteelGate is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The position is a key part of the PM DCO portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in DCO. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the full lifecycle of technical activities, from assessment and system design to development, integration, and testing. The Senior System Engineer will ensure that the solutions that are produced align with real-world cybersecurity operations and meet the evolving needs of the Army., * Ability to work on-site at Fort Gordon, GA
- Active DoD Top Secret SCI security clearance
- Minimum of 10 yrs of experience in systems engineering and cybersecurity technology integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows/Server operating systems and RedHat Linux.
- Proficiency in Forensics and Malware Analysis and Incident Response.
- Demonstrable experience with DISA STIGs and related configuration guides.
- Experience configuring, testing, and implementing cybersecurity technology.
- Familiarity with the Army Risk Management Framework (RMF) and accreditation process.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment., * Bachelor's (Preferred), * Systems engineering: 10 years (Required)
- Ansible : 3 years (Preferred)
- Linux: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher (Required)
