Job description
The Desktop/Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, and functionality of an organization's IT infrastructure, including end-user devices, local area networks (LANs), and wide area networks (WANs). This role provides technical support to end-users and collaborates with other IT teams to ensure seamless and efficient operations., Network administration
- Monitor, maintain, and support the local and wide area network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Assist with network security protocols and tools, including firewall management and VPN setup.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment from vendors like SonicWall.
- Participate in patching, system installations, and configuration of network devices.
- Assist with regular system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity.
Systems and server support
- Manage and maintain server environments, including virtualized systems using VMware and\or Hyper-V.
- Administer and support Microsoft Windows Servers and cloud platforms like Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Assist with the implementation and enforcement of IT security policies, access controls, and compliance requirements.
Desktop support
- Provide hands-on technical support for desktop and laptop computers, peripherals (printers, scanners), and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues reported by end-users via the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Perform software installations, updates, and application support for products like Microsoft Office 365.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions within Active Directory and other systems for onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and manage device lifecycle.
Security and Disaster recovery
· Assist with enforcing cybersecurity controls, managing firewalls, and implementing security policies to protect against threats.
· Participate in disaster recovery planning, conduct backups, and ensure business continuity
Project management:
Assist with planning and executing IT projects, such as network enhancements, system migrations, hardware installs and software integrations.
Documentation and compliance
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and policies. Conduct audits.
Operational and process improvement
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and provide recommendations for network and system improvements.
- Collaborate with vendors and other IT teams to resolve complex issues.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Experience in IT operations or system/network administration, requiring 2-4 years of hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Windows 10/11, Office 365, Active Directory, and Azure.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Azure Administrator would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills., * Bachelor's (Preferred), * IT work and management: 5 years (Preferred)
