We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Platform Administrator to join our innovative data team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our core data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and security across multiple database systems. Your expertise will enable seamless data operations, support complex data integration processes, and facilitate reliable access to critical information for business decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment dedicated to data excellence., * Manage and administer various database systems including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL, ensuring their stability, security, and high availability.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, performance tuning, and capacity planning to optimize efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) to facilitate accurate data movement and transformation.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL scripts, and shell scripts (Bash/Unix shell) for data extraction and processing workflows.
- Design scalable database schemas and structures that support business needs while maintaining best practices in database design and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues related to databases or data pipelines and implement solutions swiftly.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure operational continuity.
Requirements
- Strong administration experience in Hadoop, AWS, and Apache Kafka environments
- Proficiency in SQL programming with extensive experience in MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Strong knowledge of database administration principles including backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability configurations.
- Expertise in ETL processes using SSIS or similar tools for efficient data integration.
- Experience with Linux operating systems alongside Bash scripting or other shell scripting languages for automation tasks.
- Demonstrated ability in performance tuning of databases to enhance speed and resource utilization.
- Solid understanding of database design concepts to create optimized schemas that support scalable applications.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell Scripting or Python for automating routine tasks and workflows.
Benefits & conditions
Pay: $80,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
