Job description

Responsible for evaluating an organization's business needs and determining how IT can support those needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure. The solution architecture encompasses business, system, information, security, application and technology architecture. There is a need for this position for at least three years., Hands-on System Analysis & Discovery: Actively deconstruct and map highly complex, multi-tiered enterprise systems, transitioning legacy code logic into modern cloud or distributed processing application designs.

Legacy Architecture Decomposition and Road Mapping: Successfully reverse-engineer and document historical data structures, dependencies, data lineage, and core business rules nested inside legacy configurations in support of modernizing legacy systems. Support integration of new modules with legacy subsystems.

AI-Enhanced Solution Engineering: Lead technical exploration of legacy codebase and architectures utilizing advanced developer tooling to parse massive, undocumented code repositories and accelerate system migration design loops.

Functional Technical Documentation: Produce precise, presentation-ready diagrams, data models, technical specification blueprints, and technical mapping artifacts that bridge historical configurations to modern "To-Be" target modules.

Cross-Functional Agile Collaboration: Partner as an essential technical pillar within a synchronized development environment, actively collaborating with state software engineers, infrastructure operators, and functional business teams to minimize technical delivery bottlenecks.

Requirements

Professional Background: Minimum of 10+ years of dedicated experience in enterprise software engineering, data architecture, or systems integration.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical STEM discipline from an accredited institution.

Mixed-Stack Technical Literacy: Deep familiarity with modern Cloud application solutions and legacy systems (COBOL, Telon, IMS, Panvalet, and IBM DB2) paired with an excellent technical baseline in artificial intelligence including prompt engineering and

Artificial Intelligence: Demonstrated experience effectively using AI including prompt engineering, AI-assisted requirements discovery, and the ability to use AI responsibly without bias.

Advanced Analytical Frameworks: Hands-on experience navigating large-scale enterprise source code architectures to isolate dependencies, integration parameters, and data lineage mapping paths.

Mainframe Core Ecosystem Interfacing: Background extracting business rules or schema structures from legacy environments (such as IBM z/OS, COBOL, DB2, or IMS data tiers).

Preferred Qualifications

SAFe® Architect (Scaled Agile Framework): Validates the candidate's ability to align architecture with business value and co-create the Architectural Runway within a SAFe enterprise.

TOGAF® (The Open Group Architecture Framework): A classic, universally recognized enterprise architecture certification focusing on governance, business vision, and lifecycle alignment.

Advanced AI Engineering Adaption: Prior experience executing large-scale code discovery, structural rule generation, or complex software refactoring using artificial intelligence including specialized prompt engineering frameworks.

Healthcare Domain Mastery (MMIS/MES): Direct operational understanding and expertise of state Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) modular components, or healthcare transaction syntax models.

Enterprise Scaling Principles: Direct delivery experience operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), holding an active certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Architect, or POPM), or managing complex continuous delivery pipelines featuring feature toggles.
