The Systems Engineer - Infrastructure & Media Delivery is responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and operational support of enterprise media delivery and distributed systems infrastructure. Primary responsibilities include supporting a VITEC EZ TV environment consisting of approximately 400 endpoints delivering Digital Signage and IPTV/Multicast Television services, as well as supporting the underlying Windows server infrastructure, authentication services, network configuration, and Group Policy environments that these systems depend on. This role provides technical leadership for incident response, system optimization, vendor coordination, and lifecycle management to ensure high availability and reliable delivery of video and signage content., * Lead daily operations and support of enterprise IPTV, Digital Signage, and media delivery platforms.
- Monitor the health and performance of encoders, decoders, endpoints, management servers, and content distribution services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to asset synchronization, endpoint communications, content scheduling, multicast streaming, and application performance.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server environments including services, authentication, Group Policy, and Active Directory integration.
- Diagnose and resolve authentication and access issues including SSH service configuration, service account management, and Group Policy impacts on application behavior.
- Manage Digital Signage content deployment and verify successful synchronization across all endpoints.
- Support IPTV services including multicast stream distribution, channel availability, and endpoint playback.
- Coordinate firmware upgrades, software patches, and system maintenance activities with minimal service disruption.
- Investigate root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
- Work with network, server, storage, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Ensure proper operation of supporting infrastructure including NTP, DNS, DHCP, file repositories, databases, and application servers.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and knowledge articles.
- Provide technical leadership during outages and communicate status updates to management and stakeholders.
- Track system performance metrics and recommend improvements for scalability and resiliency.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity activities.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Work is performed onsite, utilizing office equipment as required for the position. Work will require periodic standing and sitting.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Video compression?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Minimum 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or enterprise IT operations.
- Hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, and service account management.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
- Experience troubleshooting authentication and access issues including SSH, NTLM, Kerberos, and Windows logon/security policy.
- Experience with distributed systems, endpoint management, and enterprise application support.
- Familiarity with NTP synchronization, event log analysis, and Windows Security auditing.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting IPTV, Digital Signage, AV-over-IP, or enterprise media delivery systems (VITEC EZ TV or similar platforms a strong plus).
- Experience with multicast technologies including IGMP Snooping, IGMP Querier, and PIM.
- Knowledge of video encoding technologies (H.264/H.265), streaming protocols, and content management systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and enterprise storage solutions.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and application performance monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting government or highly regulated IT environments., Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience., * BMC Remedy: 3 years (Preferred)
