Job description
A healthcare organization is seeking a Remote Integration Architect to join a growing data and analytics team and help strengthen enterprise-wide integration architecture.
This role is a true architect position (individual contributor) focused on defining and governing integration patterns across the organization. The Integration Architect will partner closely with engineering, data, infrastructure, and business teams to design scalable, secure, and reliable data and application integrations. While Kafka is an important part of the ecosystem, this role is not tool-first-the focus is on architectural decision-making and knowing when to use Kafka versus other integration approaches.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned architect with strong integration architecture experience who can influence decisions, push back when needed, and provide architectural clarity across multiple workstreams, including analytics, data enablement, and external data exchange.
Requirements
Strong experience as an Integration Architect in an enterprise environment
-Solid working knowledge of Confluent Kafka, with the ability to evaluate when Kafka is the right solution versus alternatives
-Experience designing integration patterns across APIs, event-driven architectures, file-based integrations, and data pipelines
-Familiarity with Snowflake and data platform integrations
-Experience working within cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable)
-Strong understanding of data movement, ingestion, and integration for analytics and operational use cases
-Ability to collaborate across application development, data engineering, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams
-Comfortable influencing stakeholders and challenging decisions with clear architectural reasoning
-Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments where data security, access control, and governance are important (PII/PHI exposure a plus) -Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, or similar integration tools
-Experience with API management and integration governance
-Experience with DBT, Datacoves, and/or Airbyte / Airflow
-Familiarity with streaming, CDC, or workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Airbyte)
-Background supporting analytics, BI, or data enablement platforms
-Experience contributing to data exchange or partner-facing integration initiatives
