Job description
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Test Engineer include but are not limited to the following:
- Review and understand quality of requirements.
- Asses requirement risks.
- Be able to estimate testing scope in application to assigned tasks.
- Develop test cases for validation of requirements.
- Perform functional testing of software.
- Be able to verbally communicate with management, development and other involved groups.
- Be able to create comprehensive testing reports and defect reports.
- Be able to use test management tools (RTC, RQM in our case).
- Be able to collaborate testing with test teams of other systems to verify end-to-end function.
- Perform complete testing of target application and its integration with each of the other targeted application components.
- 508 Compliance adherence testing.
- Create or support of SQA Master Test Plan - includes a testing method to ensure that testing is performed as early in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Support updates to: Daily Test Results Summary Report and a Bi-Weekly Testing and Test Automation Progress Report, Code Coverage Audit Report, Release Summary Test Report, Performance Master Test Plan, Integrated Performance and Load Daily Testing Report, Performance Load Test Metrics Report, Performance Test Summary.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Schedule management?, * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related technical discipline AND 2 years of experience with software related projects; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 2 yrs. of experience performing different types of testing including, but not limited to: Integration, Regression, Security, Information Assurance, Functional, 508 Compliance, End to End, Performance (Load) and User Acceptance.
- 2 yrs. of experience in software testing including planning, scheduling, and configuration management.
- 2 yrs. of experience 508 compliance testing.
- Complete understanding of the SDLC processes, standards, and procedures in Healthcare, Medical, and Benefits industries serving Federal Government.
- Prior Experience working with Veterans Affairs: Veterans Benefits Administration or Veterans Health Administration.
- Knowledgeable with business process engineering and business analysis.
- Ability to work individually or in an Agile team setting.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Government agency contracting experience.
- Knowledge of HL7 - a set of international standards for transfer of clinical and administrative data between software applications used by various healthcare providers.
- Prior experience or knowledge with any of the following: ProPath, Primavera, or Polaris.
- Knowledge of or experience using the following: Correspondence engine powered by ThunderHead (COTS), environments consisting of Apache Http server for Weblogic load balancing and web-based help publishing, IBM Websphere Operational Decision Management (WODM), JQuery, Robohelp, and Jmesa Tables
