Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable IT Manager / Head of IT to oversee our company's technology operations in an office-based environment. This individual will be responsible for setting up and maintaining company computers, managing software installations, supporting data backup and transfer efforts from our current third-party provider, procuring IT equipment, responding to help desk requests, and supporting internal software development needs., The IT Manager / Head of IT will be responsible for managing all company IT systems, equipment, software, and technical support needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Computer, Software, and System Setup.

Set up new computers, laptops, workstations, printers, phones, and related office technology.

Install, configure, and maintain software applications required for company operations.

Manage user accounts, permissions, email access, cloud storage access, and software licenses.

Ensure all company computers are properly updated, secured, and functioning efficiently.

Troubleshoot hardware, software, internet, network, and peripheral device issues.'

Data Transfer, Backup, and Third-Party Provider Coordination

Coordinate with the company's current third-party IT/data provider to transfer, organize, and back up company data.

Assist with migration of files, folders, email data, software records, and other business-critical information.

Establish and maintain reliable backup procedures to protect company data.

Verify that transferred data is complete, accessible, and properly secured.

Maintain organized records of data backup locations, access permissions, and recovery procedures.

IT Equipment Procurement:

Research, price, and procure IT equipment, including computers, monitors, printers, networking equipment, software, accessories, and related office technology.

Maintain inventory records for all IT equipment and software licenses.

Recommend cost-effective technology solutions that support company operations.

Coordinate equipment warranties, repairs, replacements, and vendor support.

Help Desk and Employee Support:

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal IT support questions.

Respond to employee help desk issues in a timely and professional manner.

Assist employees with software usage, login issues, computer problems, email issues, printing problems, and general technology questions.

Provide basic training or guidance to staff when new systems, software, or processes are implemented.

Document recurring issues and develop solutions to reduce downtime.

Software Development and Process Improvement

Use software development experience to support internal business needs, workflow improvements, reporting tools, automation, or custom software solutions.

Assist with evaluating, improving, or integrating company software systems.

Work with management to identify areas where technology can improve efficiency, organization, and communication.

Support website, database, application, or internal platform needs as required., This is an office-based position requiring regular in-person support for employees, computers, equipment, and office technology. The role may occasionally require after-hours support for urgent IT issues, software migrations, or system updates.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, technically skilled, and able to operate independently in a fast-paced business environment. This role requires someone who can both manage day-to-day IT needs and help build a reliable technology structure for the company as it grows., Prior experience in an IT management, systems administration, help desk, or similar technical role.

Strong knowledge of computer setup, software installation, user account management, and general office technology.

Experience transferring, backing up, and organizing company data.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and cloud-based system issues.

Experience procuring and managing IT equipment and software licenses.

Ability to support employees with help desk questions in a professional and timely manner.

Experience with software development, scripting, automation, databases, or application support.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of IT-related responsibilities.

Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, cloud storage platforms, QuickBooks, project management software, CRM systems, or similar business software.

Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, password management, access control, and data protection.

Experience with network setup, routers, firewalls, VPNs, printers, and shared drives.

Experience creating internal procedures, IT policies, or equipment tracking systems.

Construction, property management, office administration, or small business IT experience is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional who can take immediate ownership of the company's technology needs. This person should be comfortable working in an office environment, supporting employees directly, coordinating with outside vendors, and improving the company's IT systems. We need someone dependable, responsive, technically skilled, and capable of helping the company transition away from or properly manage current third-party IT/data providers.
