Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer (w/m/d) at High Q Laser GmbH, part of MKS, you will work closely with global teams to design, develop, and support software interfaces for high tech laser systems.

In this role, you'll take ownership of a business-critical MES system used across production lines, influence new product introduction (NPI) processes, and modernize a homegrown system.

The role reports directly to the Manufacturing & Engineering Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Developing and maintaining the internal MES system, including the implementation of new manufacturing workflows, features, and improvements
• Designing and implementing software interfaces to communicate with laser systems, test equipment, and production hardware
• Developing user friendly GUIs (WPF) for operators, technicians, and engineers in a manufacturing environment
• Ensuring reliable data handling and traceability, including interaction with SQL databases using Entity Framework (EF6)
• Supporting manufacturing operations, troubleshooting software issues in production and implementing sustainable solutions
• Collaborating cross functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Automation teams to support new product introductions and process changes

• Several years of job-related work experience
• Strong experience in C# software development
• Experience with SQL databases using Entity Framework 6 (EF6)
• Solid knowledge of WPF for desktop GUI development
• Fluent German & English (spoken and written)
