Job description
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and automate the critical infrastructure underpinning the HOB programme. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our Red Hat Linux and virtualized environments. Your Skills:
- System Administration: Manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise Red Hat Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
- Infrastructure & Virtualization: Configure and manage virtualized environments utilizing KVM and modern virtualization technologies.
- Automation & Configuration: Utilize Ansible to automate routine system tasks, deployments, and configuration management.
- Patch & Lifecycle Management: Oversee system deployment, patching, and compliance using Red Hat Satellite.
- Scripting & Tooling: Develop and maintain efficient Shell scripts to streamline operational processes and system monitoring.
- Command Line Operations: Confidently navigate, troubleshoot, and manage systems via the Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Collaboration: Work alongside security, development, and delivery teams to ensure alignment
- Red Hat Linux Operating System: Deep technical understanding of RHEL administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Command Line Interface (CLI): Advanced proficiency in navigating and managing Linux environments through the CLI.
- Shell Scripting: Proven ability to write and debug Bash/Shell scripts for automation and system management.
- KVM & Virtualization: Practical experience managing and configuring virtual machines and host infrastructure within a KVM environment.
- Red Hat Satellite: Experience using Satellite for centralized lifecycle management, patching, and provisioning.
- Ansible: Experience writing and executing Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
Requirements
Candidates must have active SC Clearance or be eligible to undergo SC Clearance (UK national with minimum of 5 years' consecutive residency).
