The adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA., We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented System Administrator with a primary focus on hardware infrastructure, including physical server maintenance, SAN management, and data center operations. This role involves configuring, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise hardware systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security., Server Management
- Install, configure, and maintain physical servers (rack/standalone) across enterprise environments.
- Perform firmware/BIOS updates, server diagnostics, and replacement of hardware components.
- Manage server lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning.
Storage Management (SAN/NAS)
- Administer Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
- Configure LUNs, zoning, multipathing, and ensure optimal storage performance.
- Monitor storage utilization and plan for capacity upgrades.
Data Center Operations
- Oversee racking, cabling, and patching of hardware in data centers or server rooms.
- Maintain environmental monitoring (cooling, power, space) and physical access control.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware maintenance, upgrades, and support cases.
System Administration
- Support operating systems including Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) as they relate to physical hosts.
Disaster Recovery & Backup
- Implement and monitor backup solutions related to SAN and physical servers.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Monitoring & Documentation
- Maintain detailed documentation of hardware assets, configurations, and maintenance logs.
- Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve hardware issues.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in system administration with a focus on hardware and storage.
- Hands-on experience managing SAN systems (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM).
- Proven experience maintaining physical servers (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, etc.).
- Familiarity with data center standards and physical server deployment.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware architecture, RAID, iLO/iDRAC, and out-of-band management.
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows system administration.
- Understanding of IP networking as it relates to storage and server connectivity., * Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA, Dell EMC Storage Administrator).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform).
- Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
