Job description
A rare opportunity to take ownership of FPGA and electronics development for a small but established product company building high-voltage monitoring technology used across critical infrastructure.
The business designs and manufactures specialist hardware and software that helps customers detect asset degradation early and improve network reliability. This is a hands-on product development role with genuine scope, not a consultancy assignment or a narrow coding position.
You will work across the full design cycle and become the technical lead for this area, supporting current products and shaping next-generation platforms.
Role Responsibilities
-
Own FPGA architecture, development and implementation using VHDL, AMD Xilinx and Vivado.
-
Develop embedded firmware in C and work with STM32 microcontrollers.
-
Design and review analogue front-end circuits, low-noise signal paths and DC-DC power supplies.
-
Support PCB definition and ensure correct FPGA implementation around high-speed interfaces.
-
Contribute to requirements capture, verification, testing, production documentation and manufacturing support.
-
Work closely with the existing lead engineer during knowledge transfer and handover.
Requirements
-
Strong FPGA development experience with proven ownership of design work.
-
Solid electronics background with embedded firmware exposure.
-
Practical understanding of analogue design, signal acquisition and power supply design.
-
Comfortable guiding others on board-level implementation and technical decisions.
-
Able to work independently in a small team and take full ownership of your area.
-
Industry background is flexible if the technical depth is there.
You will join a focused engineering environment with direct impact on products, fast decisions and real scope to shape technical direction. The role offers breadth across FPGA, embedded, electronics and product lifecycle ownership. For more information, make an application today!
