Job description
A state agency is seeking a Software Application Developer to join their team in Hartford, CT onsite twice per week. This resource will be joining a project team and directly support a major legacy to cloud modernization initiative by implementing and maintaining both server-side and user-interface components within a .NET Framework 4.8 environment using Visual Studio 2022. This full-stack role involves developing C# and ASP.NET MVC applications, building Razor-based UI features, and managing background jobs and scheduled tasks while leveraging Entity Framework or ADO.NET for direct database integration. The developer will work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and data engineers to analyze requirements, document technical designs, collaborate on ETL/SSIS processes, and validate data flows across Azure SQL/SQL Server systems. Responsibilities include optimizing performance, applying secure coding practices, supporting operational diagnostics, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments within Azure DevOps. Operating as part of an Agile Scrum team, the developer will participate in all sprint ceremonies, partner with QA and migration specialists, and ensure high-quality, maintainable software that meets modernization and integration objectives.
Requirements
6+ years of experience as a full-stack .Net Developer or related role Expertise with C# .Net 4.8 and ASP.Net MVC Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and/or Bootstrap Expertise with Entity framework and/or T-SQL, stored procedures, and query performance tuning on SQL Server/Azure SQL Previously worked on a software implementation/cloud migration effort, preferably Azure Familiarity with Visual Studio 2022 for debugging Practical experience with Azure DevOps Git source control
