Systems Engineer (Infrastructure Generalist)

• Manage and support a hybrid infrastructure environment (Azure + on-prem data centers in the Chicago area)
• Administer and maintain Windows-based systems (98% of environment) with a small Linux footprint
• Support virtualization environment (VMware) and underlying infrastructure
• Handle day-to-day systems administration across servers, storage, networking, and telecom components
• Implement and manage endpoint/device solutions, including Jamf for Mac device management
• Provide support for a small Mac environment
• Troubleshoot system performance, outages, and infrastructure issues across multiple domains
• Participate in on-call rotation (1 week every 5 weeks) to support business-critical systems
• Collaborate with senior engineers and leadership (including recent Sr. Systems Engineer hire) on infrastructure improvements and stability

• Strong experience as a Systems Engineer or Sr. Systems Administrator in a hybrid environment
• Deep expertise in Windows Server administration
• Experience with VMware (virtualization)
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud services
• Broad infrastructure experience across networking, storage, OS, and telecom
• Experience managing or supporting Mac devices (Jamf)
• Ability to operate as a true generalist in a lean, high-impact team

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience in financial services or similar enterprise environments
• Familiarity with small-scale Linux environments
• Experience working in geographically distributed infrastructure (multiple data centers)
• Comfortable working with minimal oversight in a highly technical team
