Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions DevOps Engineer to support a mission-critical intelligence program based in Springfield, VA . This is a full-time, onsite role requiring daily presence in a secure environment. This position is critical in building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure supporting intelligence systems. As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, automating, operating, and troubleshooting AWS-based platforms , ensuring system reliability, performance, and security in a high-stakes environment across a large scale data modernization project., * Manage and maintain secure AWS environments, specifically C2S/GovCloud infrastructure

  • Build, operate, and support CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable, repeatable environments
  • Administer Linux and Windows systems, including Active Directory, LDAP, and VPN technologies
  • Collaborate with development teams to build, test, and deploy microservices-based applications
  • Monitor system performance and health using tools such as CloudWatch and Kibana
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across applications, systems, and network layers
  • Perform OS installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning
  • Integrate new technologies into existing environments and support system migrations
  • Communicate status updates, escalate critical issues, and produce technical reports
  • Support secure platform operations within a classified intelligence environment

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (required)
  • 4-15+ years of experience (education-dependent; Bachelor's + ~6 years typical baseline)
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • AWS cloud (C2S or GovCloud strongly preferred)
  • CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
  • Linux administration and networking fundamentals
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues across hardware, software, and network layers
  • Experience with:
  • Infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Microservices architecture in cloud environments
  • Monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Kibana, ELK stack)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a mission-driven environment

Benefits & conditions

  • $165,000 - $210,000 based on Labor Category and years of experience
