Job description
We are seeking a Principal Mainframe Software Engineer to help design, enhance, and modernize mission critical brokerage and tax processing systems. You will develop deep knowledge of the mainframe ecosystem and support high volume, business critical workloads. This role supports broader modernization initiatives integrating mainframe systems with distributed and cloud architectures and transitioning from batch driven processing to event driven models.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years

Deep hands on expertise with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS

Experience with batch and online processing

Experience with enterprise batch scheduling tools

Advanced SQL across DB2, Oracle, and/or Postgres

Strong data analysis and performance debugging skills

Experience modernizing legacy mainframe systems

Strong Agile development background * Experience supporting large scale, high availability transaction systems

Experience with cloud or distributed system integration

Industry experience in financial services or other high transaction, data intensive environments

Brokerage, corporate actions, or tax domain experience
Benefits & conditions
Compensation: $55 - 70/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
