Job description
As the Manager of Technology, you will be the internal owner of Yardmaster's technology environment. This hands-on role blends systems and application administration, end-user support, security oversight, and vendor management. Your primary focus will be coordinating our IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) and integrating newly acquired companies into a single, standardized Yardmaster technology stack. You will partner closely with Finance, HR, Operations, and branch leadership to translate business needs into practical, well-supported technology solutions., * Field Service Management: Serve as the internal administrator and business owner for our FSM platform, supporting the company-wide rollout of Aspire, workflow configuration, and reporting.
- Finance Systems: Administer and support integrations with our Acumatica ERP system, partnering with Finance on workflows and data accuracy.
- Integrations: Build, monitor, and maintain data integrations between core systems (FSM, ERP, CRM, payroll) using iPaaS tools like MindCloud to minimize manual entry.
- Productivity & Collaboration: Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive) and lead the consolidation of legacy tools onto company standards.
- Web & Hosted Solutions: Oversee public websites and hosting providers (AWS, Unstack, WordPress/Pantheon, Cloudflare) to ensure uptime and performance.
MSP & Vendor Management (25%)
- Serve as the primary internal contact and escalation manager for our IT MSP, holding them accountable to SLAs for uptime and resolution.
- Manage the ticketing/help-desk relationship to ensure employee requests are triaged and resolved efficiently.
- Coordinate device lifecycle management with the MSP, from standardized laptop builds to secure decommissioning.
- Manage relationships with telecom, software, and hardware vendors (including Verizon for mobile).
- Partner with the MSP on multi-year IT roadmaps, budget planning, and regular business reviews.
Security & Compliance (20%)
- Own day-to-day information security oversight (endpoint protection, patching, firewall config, IAM) and set the standards for the MSP's daily work.
- Maintain web and DNS security hygiene across all domains (TLS/HTTPS enforcement, cert management, remediation of misconfigured records).
- Coordinate semiannual phishing and security-awareness training for all employees.
- Support and test backup, disaster-recovery, and incident-response planning.
Acquisition Integration (15%)
- Partner with deal and integration teams to assess the technology environment of acquired companies.
- Coordinate the migration of email, domains, DNS, file sharing, and CRM/FSM tools to Yardmaster standards.
- Document acquired environments and maintain platform-wide inventories of licenses and credentials.
Internal Support & Administration (10%)
- Provide responsive first-tier support to employees across all locations, escalating to the MSP as needed.
- Support HR-driven onboarding/offboarding automation and new hire equipment provisioning.
- Maintain IT asset records, license tracking, and participate in budgeting.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, * Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems/applications administration, technology management, or a closely related role.
- Experience working in a multi-site, high-growth, or acquisitive environment is highly preferred.
- Experience coordinating or managing an external MSP or IT services partner is strongly preferred.
- A degree or formal studies in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. (Equivalent, demonstrated professional experience in vendor integration and tech solutions is an acceptable substitute).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- FSM Platforms: Working knowledge of Field Service Management systems; familiarity with Aspire is strongly preferred.
- ERP Systems: Familiarity with cloud-based ERP/finance systems; experience with Acumatica is a plus.
- iPaaS Tools: Experience using integration platforms like MindCloud (or similar) to connect business applications.
- Web Security: Solid understanding of DNS, TLS/SSL, hosting platforms, and common web infrastructure (AWS, Cloudflare, WordPress).
- Microsoft 365: Proficiency administering M365 and core cloud collaboration tools.
- Vendor Management: Strong skills holding external service providers accountable to strict service level agreements.
- Travel: Ability to travel periodically to branch and accounting offices across OH, PA, and MI.
