Job description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing manufacturing engineering team. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing systems, assembly processes, equipment, and facility projects while supporting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments and possess strong project management and problem-solving skills., * Develop manufacturing processes for new product launches, including process flow, equipment selection, labor estimates, work instructions, and error-proofing methods.
- Design and optimize production floor layouts using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Lead manufacturing activities during new product launches and engineering changes.
- Coordinate installation, relocation, and validation of manufacturing equipment.
- Serve as project manager for capital equipment and facility improvement projects.
- Support equipment suppliers by developing statements of work and managing project timelines.
- Investigate manufacturing issues using 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Continuously improve production throughput, labor efficiency, and product quality.
- Prepare and manage Engineering Change documentation.
- Utilize AIAG Core Tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
- Provide engineering support for maintenance planning, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
- Lead daily maintenance activities and coordinate maintenance personnel when required.
- Travel to customer assembly plants and supplier locations to support launches and equipment validation.
- Mentor junior manufacturing engineers.
- Promote a strong safety culture through equipment design and daily work practices.
- Work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed to support production.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree in engineering?, Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Manufacturing engineering experience within an assembly or production environment.
- Experience managing engineering projects and equipment installations.
- PLC Expertise - Allen Bradley or Siemens
- Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage vendors and equipment suppliers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering software.
Preferred
- 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Maintenance planning or supervisory experience.
- Experience with industrial robotics and automation.
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
Pay
- $85k to $100k+ - depending on experience.
Equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered in place of a bachelor's degree for exceptional candidates.
