Job description

Derivco Malaga is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer to be part of our dynamic team., * Support, maintain, and update existing and new operator environments, acting as a key supporting mechanism for product/feature delivery.

  • Provide exceptional service to ensure maximum availability of our products and services, minimizing interruptions during maintenance, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Collaborate with problem management teams and development teams to analyze and resolve issues, taking ownership of problem cases and implementing necessary improvements.
  • Mentor and train Tier 1 Engineers, sharing your expertise and assisting with complex investigations.
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve system issues, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Take ownership of issues and problems, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Engage directly with development teams, acting as a conduit for effective collaboration and support.
  • Ensure error-free software deployments, baselining staging environments, and maintaining consistency with live environments.
  • Attend project planning and requirements sessions, completing project work on time and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Conduct capacity reviews and provide capacity reports/updates to stakeholders.
  • Lead departmental initiatives and special projects, resolving incidents and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and dedication by taking on additional, unplanned projects as required by the business.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in supporting, maintaining, and updating software environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with development teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Strong research and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Flexibility to provide standby support on a 24/7 basis during specified periods.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work after hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • MSSQL / T-SQL.
  • Experience in the IT Industry using Microsoft and other leading technologies.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 to 2016.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting skills or other scripting languages.
  • Experience using coding / scripting to automate manual tasks.
  • Strong problem solving skill.
  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for self learning.
  • Experience with CI / CD Pipeline Automation.
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience using YAML.
  • Understanding Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience in Azure Application Insights.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
