Job description

At ERNI, we are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer with Angular knowledge to join a long-term international project focused on developing and evolving modern enterprise applications. You'll work within a large distributed team using the latest Java ecosystem, building scalable services and integrations in a cloud-native environment.

This is a backend-focused role where you'll develop microservices, APIs and integrations using Java, Spring Boot and Kubernetes. Although Angular knowledge is a plus, the day-to-day work is mainly backend development.

You'll collaborate with international teams in an Agile environment, working with modern technologies while contributing to a large-scale ecosystem composed of multiple products and services.

With people. Besides your team and manager, you will have several support figures like a godparent, who will help you with the practical and administrative aspects of daily life during your first 6 months.

And the second most important person after you, your mentor, who will guide you through your entire onboarding and career at ERNI. You will have regular 1:1 meetings with them, and recurrently, you will work on your development plan to define your short-, medium-, and long-term goals.

  • Apache Kafka or messaging systems.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise backend applications using Java and Spring Boot while contributing to the evolution of a modern microservices architecture.

You will design and implement REST services, participate in CI/CD processes, collaborate with distributed international teams and ensure high-quality, scalable and maintainable solutions. You'll also contribute to integrations between different enterprise systems and continuously improve development practices.

We ask you to be available for key meetings. Need to leave for a doctor's appointment or to pick up your child from school? No problem. We trust you to deliver quality work within your 40-hour workweek.

Our model is hybrid: we usually go to the office 2 days a week, though this depends on the project and team, but we love seeing each other's faces; the best stories always happen in the office!

Requirements

  • Strong experience developing applications with Java.
  • Solid knowledge of Spring Boot.
  • Experience building REST APIs and backend services.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience using Jenkins.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Basic knowledge of Angular.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed teams.
