Job description

Do you want to be a part of building a smarter, more reliable, and secure workplace within a rapidly growing environment?, We're looking for a Modern Workplace Infrastructure Engineer to join the team and play a central role in shaping and supporting our modern IT environment.

This is a hands-on technical role. You'll be in the detail - configuring Intune, managing policies, deploying packages, and maintaining cloud services-but also stepping back to help us continuously improve how our workplace technology operates.

You'll take ownership of key platforms such as Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, and Azure, ensuring they're secure, optimised, and delivering real value. You'll also have the opportunity to lead technical initiatives, particularly around automation, AI adoption, and M&A integration work.

You'll work closely with infrastructure peers, service desk, and wider IT teams, contributing to a collaborative environment where ideas are valued and improvements are actively encouraged.

This is a great role for someone who wants to:

  • Be hands-on with modern workplace and cloud technologies
  • Take ownership of key platforms like Intune and Microsoft 365
  • Lead and contribute to technical projects and improvements
  • Build expertise across infrastructure, security, AI and automation
  • Work in a collaborative team where your input genuinely matters

We're not trying to overcomplicate things-we're focused on building an environment that is reliable, secure, and continuously improving, and you'll play a key part in that.

If you enjoy having ownership, building things properly, and making a tangible impact, this is the kind of role where you'll thrive.

You'll be getting up to a range of tasks and responsibilities, including;

Modern Workplace & Cloud Management

  • Deploying, configuring, and optimising Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, and Azure services
  • Owning device management, including policy configuration and application deployment via Intune
  • Continuously improving performance, security, and user experience across workplace technologies

Virtualisation & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Implementing and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop & Windows 365 environments
  • Monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability

Network & Infrastructure

  • Designing, configuring, and troubleshooting network environments
  • Managing and optimising firewall and switching technologies
  • Ensuring infrastructure is secure, efficient, and well-performing

System Administration

  • Managing operating systems including Windows 11, Windows Server, iOS, and macOS
  • Maintaining device compliance, patching, and configuration standards
  • Managing escalations from the support team

AI & Automation

  • Supporting AI pilot projects and initiatives
  • Developing automation and scripting solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort

Security & Resilience

  • Implementing and maintaining security controls across endpoints and cloud platforms
  • Supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data availability and integrity

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Supporting the integration of systems and infrastructure from acquired organisations
  • Helping bring new environments into line with our standards and practices

User Support & Documentation

  • Providing technical support and guidance to end-users
  • Creating and maintaining clear documentation and standard operating procedures, Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, or similar would be a plus, along with familiarity with ITIL practices.

Requirements

At Cooper Parry, we're in it together. All we ask of our people is that they play all in. You'll continuously strive to keep learning - whether you're a trainee or a Partner - and you'll be brave, stepping out of your comfort zone to tackle new challenges. Above all, be nice. A simple notion, but an irreplaceable part of what makes CP, CP.

We're looking for someone comfortable operating in a modern workplace/infrastructure role, with a strong technical foundation and a proactive mindset.

You'll already have experience working with Microsoft cloud technologies and device management, and you'll be confident taking ownership of your areas while contributing to wider team goals.

We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for AI too, with a curiosity to learn more about Generative AI and Agentic AI, and who is keen to develop their knowledge while supporting future projects.

From a technical perspective, you should have:

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Defender
  • A solid understanding of virtualisation
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and security practices
  • Experience with firewall and switching technologies
  • Experience managing Windows, iOS, and macOS environments
  • An understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell or similar)

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • Exposure to M&A integrations or complex environments
  • Exposure to Copilot and Claude and managing AI Agents

From a broader perspective, we're looking for someone who:

  • Is a strong problem-solver and enjoys getting into the detail
  • Communicates clearly and works well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Can manage their own workload and contribute to project delivery
  • Is adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment

Benefits & conditions

What's in it for you? Our people are the beating heart of our culture. We know that if you love working here, and you're given the trust and autonomy to work in a way that best suits you, you'll produce amazing results. That's why we offer things like:

  • A generous holiday entitlement
  • An enhanced parental leave policy
  • An enhanced pension scheme
  • No dress code - just "wear something!"
