Job description

Legal Help in Colorado (LHIC) and Sue My Landlord (SMLL) are two Denver-area plaintiff-side law firms under common ownership, with a combined team of roughly 20 attorneys and staff. We practice personal injury and landlord-tenant/warranty of habitability law across Colorado state and federal courts.

We are creating a new role for a driven, independent technology professional who will own the entire digital transformation of both practices. You will assess our existing stack, eliminate manual bottlenecks, integrate AI-powered workflows, and build the infrastructure that lets our legal team focus on lawyering instead of administration.

This is a ground-floor opportunity. You will have direct access to firm leadership, meaningful autonomy, and the chance to build something real.

Our Current Technology Stack

You will be inheriting and building on the following:

  • AI-Tools: Claude Enterprise, Supio
  • Case management: Filevine, Hona
  • Communications & office productivity: Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Cloud Tech: SharePoint, Dropbox
  • Collaboration: Slack
  • Phone: RingCentral
  • Accounting: QuickBooks
  • Lead intake: Lawyer.com, Callrail
  • E-filing: Colorado Courts E-Filing (CCEF/JBITS), Colorado Federal Courts CM/ECF (Case Management/Electronic Case Files)
  • Document Creation and Management: Adobe, Microsoft365, Automation & Integration
  • Map and eliminate repetitive manual workflows across both firms (intake, billing, calendaring, document routing, court deadline tracking)
  • Design and implement integrations across Filevine, Microsoft 365, Slack, RingCentral, QuickBooks, and Supio using tools such as Zapier, Make.com, Power Automate, or custom API scripts
  • Build automated client intake flows, conflict checks, and engagement letter generation
  • Time-capture workflows tied to case milestones to cross reference and correct time tracking for billing

AI Tools & Document Workflows

  • Evaluate, deploy, and manage AI tools for legal research, medical record summarization, demand letter drafting, and discovery review
  • Extend current Claude/Supio usage into structured, firm-wide workflows with appropriate HIPAA and ABA RPC 1.6 compliance guardrails
  • Build document assembly templates for high-volume matter types (PI demands, warranty of habitability complaints)
  • Maintain and expand the firm's bilingual (English/Spanish) document library and intake email templates

Systems Administration & IT Infrastructure

  • Own Microsoft 365 tenant administration (user provisioning, SharePoint architecture, OneDrive governance, Teams configuration)
  • Maintain security, backups, and access controls across all firm systems
  • Manage vendor relationships and software renewals; evaluate and demo new software and technology vendors, assess fit for firm needs, and lead implementation of selected tools
  • Train staff on new tools and produce clear, concise SOPs and internal tools that give the entire firm fast access to the information they need
  • Serve as first-line escalation for technology issues across both firms

Requirements

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with automation platforms (Zapier, Make.com, Power Automate, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python strongly preferred; JavaScript, PowerShell, or Bash acceptable)
  • Experience with REST APIs and integrating SaaS platforms via API or webhooks
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tooling (OpenAI API, Claude API, LangChain, or similar)
  • Microsoft 365 administration experience (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
  • Experience automating common file types for law firms like .docx
  • Ability to work independently, self-prioritize, and drive projects to completion without close supervision
  • Strong written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical attorneys and staff

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with legal practice management software, especially Filevine
  • Familiarity with legal workflows: client intake, discovery, demand letters, court calendaring, e-filing
  • Knowledge of HIPAA technical safeguards and ABA/Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct as they apply to technology
  • Experience in a professional services environment (law, accounting, consulting)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience, Whether you're early in your career or making a pivot from a related field, what matters is what you've built. Maybe you automated a workflow with a Python script, wired together a Zapier flow that saved your last employer hours a week, or built a chatbot with an LLM API. You are not intimidated by a messy technology stack. You enjoy diagnosing problems, mapping processes, and building clean solutions. You understand that in a law firm, precision and confidentiality matter as much as speed. You want ownership, not just assignments.
