Job description

As the Lead Software Engineer, you own the technical integrity of our stack. Your success is measured by the stability of the system and the efficiency of the contributors within it.

We operate using a spec-driven approach, where clear, testable specifications guide development and serve as the source of truth across teams. We work in an AI-forward development environment, leveraging tools (e.g., AI-assisted coding) to accelerate delivery while maintaining strong engineering judgment and code quality., * Architectural Stewardship: Design systems using S.O.L.I.D. principles to ensure our architecture is extensible and maintainable for long-term in-house ownership.

  • AI-Augmented Development: Essential Requirement. You must be an expert in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (Copilots, LLMs, automated refactoring) to transform how the team builds, tests, and deploys. You will lead the team in integrating AI into the daily workflow to maximize efficiency and code quality.
  • SDLC Transformation: Audit and overhaul our development processes. You define "Quality"-from automated testing to rigorous code review standards.
  • Leadership & Discipline: Act as the technical anchor for the team. You ensure that "moving fast" never comes at the expense of "moving correctly."
  • Technical Priority: Partner with the Engineering Manager to prioritize the roadmap, acting as the primary advocate for remediating technical debt and protecting the codebase's health., The Lead Software Engineer may benefit from the flexibility to work in a way that suits them best. We offer the following working options:
  • Office-Based: Our modern and well-equipped office space provides a collaborative environment where you can work closely with your team, engage in face-to-face interactions, and foster a sense of community.
  • Hybrid: For those who prefer a balance between office and remote work, we offer a hybrid model. This allows you to divide your time between working in the office and remotely, providing the best of both worlds.

Requirements

  • A Leader First: You understand that leadership is about setting the standard. You are comfortable challenging the status quo to protect the health of the codebase.
  • A Master Craftsman: Deep expertise in JavaScript (Node.js), NoSQL (MongoDB), and Angular. You know the difference between a solution that works and a solution that lasts.
  • Modern Methodology: You believe in "Fail Fast" and iterative development. You understand how to apply S.O.L.I.D. principles in a modern, fast-paced environment.
  • Prioritize building reusable, scalable systems over one-off implementations, with a focus on long-term maintainability.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) or understanding how application design impacts downstream analytics is a plus.

Benefits & conditions

We offer a competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000. The final salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, knowledge, and demonstrated expertise.
