Job description
We are seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide hands-on IT support to Catholic parishes in the Williamsburg region. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable technology across all parish sites, with a focus on desktop support, Microsoft 365 administration, network operations, and end-user support in a standardized Microsoft environment.
This is a field-based position suited for someone who is practical, responsive, and comfortable working directly with parish staff. Regular travel between parish locations is required. A vehicle is provided for work-related travel.
This position provides the opportunity to build strong relationships with parish staff while delivering consistent, high-quality technology support. The successful candidate will follow established diocesan standards for hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity while working closely with the central IT team to ensure reliable and secure technology across all parish locations.

Provide on-site and remote support for parish staff, resolving hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.

Administer and support the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune.

Deploy, configure, and support Windows 11 PCs, Macs, iPhones, iPads, and ChromeOS devices.

Support Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Configure and troubleshoot Yealink VoIP phones and related telecommunications services.

Maintain and troubleshoot UniFi networking equipment, including switches, wireless access points, Internet connectivity, and firewall-related issues.

Support PaperCut Hive and multifunction printers, including deployment, maintenance, and issue resolution.

Assist with conference room technology, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Maintain device inventory, asset records, and technical documentation.

Work closely with the central IT team to ensure technology standards, cybersecurity, and consistency across all parish locations.
Requirements

Experience providing desktop and end-user support in Windows and macOS environments.

Experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, and Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and endpoint management using Microsoft Intune.

Working knowledge of Windows 11, macOS, iOS, and ChromeOS.

Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless networks.

Experience supporting PaperCut Hive and multifunction printers.

Experience with cloud storage platforms including OneDrive, SharePoint, and Dropbox.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with non-technical staff.

Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple parish locations.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Experience with UniFi networking equipment is preferred.

Experience supporting Yealink VoIP phones or similar IP telephony platforms is preferred.

Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Google, etc.) are a plus.
