Job description
We're looking for an IT Operations Technician to join our team! In this role, you'll provide first-line technical support to internal customers, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of the organization's technology systems., * Provide technical support to internal customers via the internal ticket system, phone, email, and in-person communication
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems
- Respond to help desk tickets in a timely and efficient manner using a queue-based system (e.g., JIRA)
- Document and track technical support incidents using a ticketing system
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues
- Monitor and maintain the performance and security of technology systems
- Participate in the patch management process to ensure all systems (including servers) are up to date with the latest security patches and software updates
- Perform basic user management tasks, such as creating and managing user accounts and permissions
- Perform basic systems administration tasks, such as monitoring system logs, backups, and performance metrics
- Perform basic server-side tasks, such as updating software and security patches, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting issues
- Participate in IT projects as needed
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in technical support, IT operations, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of hardware and software systems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Basic knowledge of server-side systems and technologies
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Strong documentation and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with queue-based systems (e.g., JIRA)
- Basic understanding of user management and systems administration principles
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to travel between BPG locations (approximately 25% travel)
