LOCATION Annapolis Junction, MD. PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must possess active TS/SCI w/Poly. SALARY RANGE $200,000 - $230,000/year. DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Software Engineer III role, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based on documented requirements. You will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements and documenting test results. You will resolve software problem reports and apply software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. You will also provide specific input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products in place of new development, as well as requirements analysis and synthesis from the system level down to individual software components., Identify and resolve defects through rigorous debugging of existing software systems
Advise on enhancements for technical documentation and development lifecycle standards
Engineer novel software solutions or implement feature enhancements within current applications
Incorporate software into evolving systems or diverse operational environments
Construct data queries to support database interactions and information retrieval
Author and critique technical manuals and system-level documentation
Perform as a team lead, managing technical activities according to specific project methodologies
Architect and deploy advanced interfaces and queries for complex data repositories
Optimize algorithms to achieve superior system functionality and performance benchmarks
Coordinate the creation and execution of validation procedures for software modules
Investigate technical problem areas and define solutions through system flow and data analysis
Adapt software to new hardware specifications while optimizing overall performance
Model and predict software outcomes using scientific and mathematical analysis during design
Execute quality control measures and implement algorithms with strict resource constraints
Direct software development teams to ensure alignment with project-specific process constraints
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers to define limitations and project capabilities
Oversee system installations and monitor functionality to maintain operational compliance
Propose emerging technologies and modernized processes for high-complexity initiatives
Provide technical leadership across multiple development teams and coordinate process selection
Validate the quality of all developed software through rigorous control standards
Assign and monitor programming and testing tasks across various engineering teams
Requirements
Knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security; experience with JMS, KAFKA, and Java; proficiency in Oracle, Elasticsearch, Docker, and Kubernetes (K8s); and familiarity with Maven, Gradle, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Angular and ReactJS
SKILLS Evaluate end-user needs to establish comprehensive software design and performance criteria, QUALIFICATIONS Twelve (12) years of experience as a SWE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
