1st Line Support Engineer Location: Burnley | Full-Time | £25,000-£30,000 + Benefits Kickstart Your IT Career in a High-Growth Tech Environment Are you early in your IT career and looking for a role where you can learn fast, gain hands-on experience, and build a strong technical foundation? We're hiring a 1st Line Support Engineer to join a collaborative and fast-paced support team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong fundamentals, curiosity, and great communication skills who wants to grow into a 2nd Line or specialist role over time. What You'll Be Doing Acting as the first point of contact for IT support queries (remote & onsite) Troubleshooting issues across hardware, software, and user accounts Supporting Windows environments, Office 365, and basic networking issues Logging and managing tickets through to resolution Escalating more complex issues to senior engineers
Requirements
Delivering excellent customer service and user communication What We're Looking For Some experience in an IT support role, internship, or helpdesk environment Understanding of: Windows OS Active Directory / user management Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, etc.) Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn Clear communication and a customer-first mindset A proactive attitude-someone who asks questions and takes ownership Desirable (Not Essential) IT certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+) Exposure to ticketing systems Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) What's in It for You Structured training and clear progression path Supportive team environment with mentoring
