Job description
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of software & data engineers in the Digital Health space, building enterprise platforms to enable personalized healthcare driven by data
- Continually improve our software delivery by maturing our software engineering practices (CI/CD, automated testing, cloud-native architectures).
- Collaborate cross functionally with engineering, security, service delivery, and privacy teams, among other teams, to deliver best in class digital products
- Influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, peers, and leadership to remove barriers
- Oversee activities of development and design requirements for software systems, applications and software quality assurance for enhancements and new products, including cloud-based platforms, to meet the current and future software needs
- Manage activities to ensure programs are appropriately resourced and ensure continuous improvement in technical capability, process, and compliance
- Manage scope, cost, and schedule within a cross-functional development team
- Create and manage expectations with team members, stakeholders, cross functional teams, and leadership
- Select, develop, coach, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
- Responsibilities may include those listed above and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree
- 5+ years of managerial experience, + Proven ability to deliver AWS cloud-based software solutions in a secure environment (healthcare, finance, or government/regulated environment is preferred)
- Passion for developing and coaching a team
- Experience leading a team of seasoned professionals
- Proven ability to effectively manage the development of digital products (Agile Product Team)
- Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
- Experience as a product owner or lead business analyst on a software engineering team
- Proven track record successfully managing software development projects
- Experience building cloud native solutions, specifically leveraging AWS Native Services
- Experience with AI systems design and AI Operations (e.g. Kiro)
- Innate curiosity and a desire to work in a developing space
- Strong technical acumen and proven ability to collaborate with engineers and developers on technical discussions
- Ability to lead through change and inspire confidence in your team
- Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with data platforms and standards
- Experience working with nearshore and offshore teams
- AWS Certification such as AWS Cloud Architect Professional
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$175,200.00 - $262,800.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
