Job description

As a Lead Java FS Engineer, you will oversee the design, develop, and maintain secure, mission-critical distributed components within our high-scale Retail Order Management ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in modern Java architectures, a deep understanding of server application behaviour in Unix environments, and expert-level proficiency in front-end development using Angular. You will be responsible for delivering resilient end-to-end solutions (both frontend and backend) in an Agile framework.

In this role, you will:

  • Architecture & Development: Code, design, and build scalable, distributed backend server applications, RESTful APIs, and dynamic, responsive user interfaces using Angular from scratch.
  • End-to-End Integration: Seamlessly connect robust Java-based microservices with interactive Angular frontends, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience.
  • Testing & Optimization: Lead engineering standards by writing robust JUnit test cases for backend code, implementing frontend unit tests (Karma/Jasmine), and performing runtime performance profiling.
  • Team Collaboration: Act as a proactive self-starter within distributed agile teams, ensuring overall code quality through comprehensive peer reviews and git-based workflows.

Requirements

  • Core & Enterprise Java: 8 to 10+ years of deep hands-on experience in Core Java (Java 8+), Multithreading, and extensive J2EE enterprise knowledge (EJBs, Servlets, JSP, Struts, Application Servers, and XML technologies).
  • Frontend Mastery: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (Angular 2+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and state management libraries (e.g., NgRx).
  • Framework Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and automated testing via JUnit and frontend testing tools.
  • Domain Expertise: Mandatory experience working within the Retail Domain, focusing specifically on Order Management systems.
  • Distributed Ecosystems: Strong background in asynchronous processing and data layers using Apache Kafka, SQL, and Unix-based system operations (including Shell Scripting).
  • Build & Version Control: Extensive experience with modern software build tools like Maven, Nexus, and Gradle, alongside web build tools (npm/Webpack) and structured source control using GitHub., * NoSQL Databases: Hands-on experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL document stores.
  • Cloud Architecture: Working knowledge or experience deploying full-stack web applications within the AWS ecosystem.
  • Performance Profiling: Familiarity with application profiling tools such as jMeter, YourKit, or jProbe to identify code and memory bottlenecks (frontend or backend).
  • UI/UX Component Libraries: Experience with Angular Material, Bootstrap, or PrimeNG.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate seamlessly across cross-functional distributed teams.
  • Problem-Solving: An analytical mindset capable of debugging complex, high-concurrency issues in a production environment as well as solving tricky frontend state management bugs.
