Job description
Provide backup help desk support for approximately 170 users in the Northbrook headquarters Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks including account creation in identity management systems with careful attention to accuracy Set up new employee desks with monitors and laptops, ensuring accounts and email are functional Coordinate with the Italy-based help desk team to request license assignments and resolve issues Monitor backup systems, troubleshoot failures, and open tickets to document issues Install security agents on servers following provided instructions Perform basic server administration tasks including checking if backup systems are pointed at correct servers Troubleshoot VM host changes and connectivity issues Resolve duplicate account issues that arise from HR system integration problems Image laptops and perform desktop support tasks as needed Interact with global teams in Parma, Italy for infrastructure initiatives and support Use FreshService ITSM platform to manage tickets, track changes, and maintain asset inventory Retrieve local admin passwords and BitLocker keys from Entra ID for administrative work on laptops Work with Dell laptops, Cisco network equipment, and HP servers in the environment, * Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers. * Perform routine system updates, patches, and security maintenance, while following change management procedures. * Assist in troubleshooting server, storage, and network issues. * Monitor backup processes, perform restore tests, and remediate backup issues. * Provide support for AWS S3 buckets for backup system. * Maintain server documentation such as deployment and decommissioning checklists. * Support virtualization platforms and perform periodic maintenance on them. * Participate in disaster recovery testing and recovery. * Provide first-level support network connectivity issues. * Assist with server and network installations, upgrades and documentation. * Lead small to medium-sized infrastructure projects on time and within budget. * Support other systems such as network, telephony, and video conference as needed. * Ensure that ISO KPIs are calculated and reported (e.g. backup success ratio, etc.). * Perform assigned activities on the recovery test calendar in a timely fashion. * Serve as backup helpdesk support when the primary helpdesk technician is unavailable. Some helpdesk support may be for remote sites. * Image and deploy PCs to end users. * Support user account management, permissions and access control, including set up of Azure MFA. * Assist senior staff with security remediations identified by security team. * Update and maintain inventories of PCs, mobile devices, network gear and servers per ISO27001 processes. Complete periodic reviews of inventories. * Follow all other processes and procedures as defined by the local and global IT departments and Company policy. * Maintain relationships with global IT, local IT, and employee user community. * Follow all governance guidelines and procedures of IT., Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates.
