Job description

The Business Systems, Data, and ERP Analyst serves as a critical link between business operations and technology, supporting the organization's ERP system, business applications, reporting platforms, and data analytics initiatives. This role is responsible for analyzing business processes, optimizing system functionality, developing reports and dashboards, maintaining data integrity, and supporting ERP enhancements that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.

The Analyst partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Operations teams to identify business needs, implement process improvements, and leverage data to drive business performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesERP System Administration and Support

  • Provide day-to-day support for ERP systems and related business applications.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with internal stakeholders and software vendors.
  • Configure and maintain ERP modules, workflows, user roles, and security settings.
  • Support ERP upgrades, patches, enhancements, and testing activities.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and training materials.
  • Ensure system performance, data accuracy, and compliance with company standards.

Business Process Analysis

  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through technology and automation.
  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional system specifications.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to streamline workflows and optimize system utilization.
  • Support business process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and system implementations.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using ERP and business intelligence tools.
  • Analyze operational, financial, inventory, production, and supply chain data.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Monitor data trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Create ad hoc reports and data analyses as requested by management.
  • Ensure report accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.

Data Governance and Data Integrity

  • Maintain master data related to products, customers, suppliers, inventory, and manufacturing processes.
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards and procedures.
  • Monitor data quality and perform audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Assist with data migration, cleansing, and validation efforts.
  • Develop procedures to improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Support compliance with company policies regarding data management.

Manufacturing and Supply Chain Support

  • Support ERP functionality for production planning, inventory control, procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Analyze production and supply chain performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory levels and material flow.
  • Assist with bill of materials (BOM), routing, work order, and inventory-related system maintenance.
  • Support capacity planning, forecasting, and operational reporting initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing system utilization.

Project Management and System Implementation

  • Participate in ERP implementation, enhancement, and integration projects.
  • Assist with project planning, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities.
  • Coordinate project activities between departments and external vendors.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Support change management and user adoption initiatives.
  • Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions.

Business Intelligence and Analytics

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations using reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Support KPI development and performance management initiatives.
  • Analyze trends related to production, inventory, labor, quality, and financial performance.
  • Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Provide leadership with meaningful insights to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Support predictive and data-driven business initiatives.

User Training and Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert for ERP systems and business applications.
  • Train users on system functionality, reporting tools, and best practices.
  • Create user guides, process documentation, and training resources.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Promote effective system utilization across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required., * 3-7 years of experience supporting ERP systems, business analysis, data analytics, or business systems administration.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or supply chain environment preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and business reporting tools.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and business process workflows.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, procurement, finance, or logistics processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with SQL, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., * Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Epicor, Infor, JD Edwards, NetSuite, or IQMS.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL, database management, and data modeling.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CBAP, PMP, or similar certification.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or major system upgrades.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
