Platform Operations
- Operate and maintain a production-grade Kubernetes platform
- Ensure platform stability, availability, and performance across all environments
- Manage platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, maintenance, and configuration changes
- Execute controlled platform releases with rollback strategies
- Maintain comprehensive operational documentation and runbooks
Kubernetes Administration
Operate and support Kubernetes platform components, including:
- Multi-cluster environments
- Ingress Controllers
- Service Discovery
- Workload Identity
- Storage (CSI, PV/PVC)
- Autoscaling (HPA/VPA)
- RBAC
- Network Policies
- Admission Controllers
- Pod Security Standards
Troubleshoot production issues such as:
- Pod lifecycle failures
- Crash loops
- OOM events
- Scheduling issues
- DNS and networking problems
- Resource bottlenecks
- Performance degradation
Incident Management & Operational Support
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- Respond rapidly to production incidents
- Lead or contribute to:
- Incident triage
- Service restoration
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Post-incident reviews
- Track corrective and preventive actions
- Continuously improve operational procedures
Observability & Monitoring
Manage the organization's observability platform by ensuring effective monitoring through:
- Metrics
- Logs
- Distributed tracing
Responsibilities include:
- Alert optimization
- Reducing alert fatigue
- Dashboard maintenance
- Telemetry analysis
- Performance monitoring
- Supporting incident investigations
Change & Release Management
- Plan and execute production changes
- Follow formal Change Management processes
- Communicate with stakeholders throughout deployments
- Ensure changes are documented, auditable, and low risk
- Coordinate platform maintenance windows
Security & Compliance
Operate and maintain platform security controls:
- RBAC
- Network segmentation
- Secret management
- Certificate lifecycle
- Vulnerability remediation
- Security patching
Support compliance activities by providing operational evidence during audits.
Automation & Platform Engineering
- Automate repetitive operational activities
