• Administration, maintenance, and optimization of our MariaDB database environment
• Ensuring high availability, data integrity, security, and performance of MariaDB databases
• Monitoring database health, analyzing performance bottlenecks, and implementing optimization measures
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Planning and executing database upgrades, migrations, and version updates
• Collaborating closely with application developers to optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and indexing strategies
• Monitoring system performance, identifying issues proactively, and troubleshooting database-related incidents
• Documenting database architectures, configurations, operational procedures, and best practices
• Automating database deployment, configuration, patching, and maintenance using modern automation tools
• Supporting capacity planning, scalability initiatives, and continuous improvement of the database platform

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Strong knowledge of MariaDB and practical experience administering relational database management systems
• Solid experience with SQL, database design, indexing, and query optimization
• Experience with MariaDB backup and recovery solutions, replication technologies, and high availability concepts
• Good understanding of database performance tuning and monitoring
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible is an advantage
• Linux system administration knowledge is a plus
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python is desirable
• Familiarity with database security best practices and access management
• Strong analytical skills, a structured and solution-oriented way of working, and a collaborative mindset
• Excellent communication skills in English
