Please note the content of this advert does not represent a live vacancy.About the opportunityThis is an opportunity to register your interest in future Information Security Engineer roles within our expanding cyber security function. Roles of this type could support the protection of critical systems and data across a dynamic, growing technology environment.You could be joining a collaborative security team at a business advancing its cyber resilience and compliance posture. The work could involve partnering across infrastructure, cloud platforms and development teams to implement, maintain and improve security controls, with scope to contribute to raising security standards across the organisation.What you would doTypical responsibilities could include:

  • Contributing to the design and implementation of security controls across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure
  • Supporting the maintenance and hardening of Windows and Linux systems in compliance with security standards
  • Assisting with API security, microservices architecture security and distributed systems protection
  • Participating in CI/CD pipeline security assessments and containerisation security (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Contributing to network security initiatives, including DMZ configuration and F5 load balancer management
  • Supporting identity and access management activities across enterprise systems
  • Assisting with security incident response and vulnerability remediation
  • Contributing to security documentation, threat modelling (using UML, BPMN) and compliance reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent relevant cyber security qualification)
  • Solid understanding of security principles, threat landscapes and risk management
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, scripting (Bash, Python) and SQL
  • Understanding of API security, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD security concepts
  • Knowledge of network security concepts, including DMZ architecture and firewalls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and ability to work effectively across technical teams
  • Right to work in the UK
