Business Intelligence Analyst

This is an exciting opportunity to join the TIS Innovation team as a Business Intelligence Analyst . This role is responsible for bringing insights on usage of the service platforms and programs that dealers and customers use to service Caterpillar equipment globally. This includes visualization, through Power Bi, data analysis in Snowflake involving usage or transactional data from across the enterprise., * Works directly with business partners to understand informational needs of end users and create reporting/visualization solutions that turn data into critical information to ultimately drive sound business decisions

• Present insights outputs to Senior leaders and advisors
• Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy into production automated reporting solutions
• Incorporate statistical methods and/or digital methods to solve business problems
• Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy into production automated reporting solutions
• Coach and mentor other business intelligence analysts in the creation, validation, and application of digital solutions and Insights projects.
• Participate on cross-functional project teams, You'll have the opportunity to work with dealers and multiple teams across Caterpillar (Cat Trade COE, Cat Insurance Services, Cat Legal, Division Compliance, and Distribution Services Divisions) to mitigate risk and ensure all aspects of warranty claiming comply with applicable regulations.

• Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.
• Business Assessment: Knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities; ability to assess the benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.
• Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
• Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
• Research Analysis: Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.

What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have):

• 2+ years of data analysis or data visualization experience
• Working knowledge and experience with Power BI, Snowflake and SQL
• 2+ years of experience in design and prototyping dynamic views and visualizations for large and complex data sets in Tableau and/or Power BI
• Good communication skills
• Self-starter and driven while working well in team environment
• Create innovative solutions to solve business problems
• Strong attention to detail to spot inaccuracies in coding or data
• Experience with data structures using SQL
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Management studio, R, SQL, DevOps, Excel, Alteryx, Snowflake is a plus
