Job description
Under administrative direction: Evaluates, installs, configures, and supports digital technologies-including hardware, software, and services-while monitoring performance and ensuring optimal operation. Provides network and system support, including configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security hardening, documentation, and auditing for network equipment and Windows and Linux/Unix-like server environments. Supports multi-agency WAN environments. Performs other related duties as required., Team Coordination Receives and logs problems and request tickets into issue tracking system; performs trouble ticket triage, ensures appropriate details have been documented, and delegates to appropriate team members; Serves as a technical liaison between department teams and other agencies; communicates solutions; may represent the department in attending various meetings; assists with coordination of preventative maintenance and service calls.
Network Support Assists users in resolving hardware/software problems; provides troubleshooting assistance in resolving operational problems; advises and assists clients in resolving and defining network problems and obtaining solutions; serves as a technical liaison between staff teams and other agencies; adheres to department and security standards.
Documentation Creates, revises and maintains LAN documentation; documents solutions into knowledge base; prepares and maintains required records and reports; generates and maintains documentation related to project design and implementation; assists with development and implementation of LAN related policies and procedures; upkeep of the inventory databases and preventative maintenance records.
Training Communicates and/or trains staff as needed to efficiently utilize the network capabilities (equipment and LAN); attends seminars, training sessions, or conferences to enhance self- knowledge of new systems and methodologies.
Business System Analysis Gather user requirements and assess, design, implement, test, and maintain network and system solutions (hardware, software, load/capacity, security, access, and configurations); participate in implementation teams as needed; continuously evaluate and recommend products and system improvements; review and monitor hardware, network, and application performance; assists with: planning and coordination of software and system modifications, cost/benefit analyses, procurement, training, security measures and deployments as needed.

- May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift up to 20 pounds over their head and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds (160lbs when aided by another employee or assisted lift technology) to at least chest height

Licensing/Certification
- Possession of valid driver's license, if utilization of a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions is required.
- Must maintain current certifications, licenses.

Requirements
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below:
- Has one (1) to three (3) years of experience administrating a TCP/IP network in a mixed OS environment (Windows, Linux/Unix, MacOS, iOS, Android), or equivalent combinations of training and/or experience
- Has experience operating: managed switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows
- Has experience and considerable knowledge of network protocols such as TCP, IP, DHCP, DNS, SMB, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, RPC, * Has two (2) or more years of a college-level education in an Information Technology or Computer Science related discipline
- Has entry-level or higher professional certifications in related digital technology such as: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Tech+, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA Security+
- Has experience administering: Microsoft Office 365/Microsoft 365/Azure/Entra, Microsoft Exchange, bare-metal hypervisors, Microsoft Windows, Linux/Unix-like operating systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough Knowledge of computer system analysis, operating systems, data network technology and protocols, cybersecurity, and network security; agile project management*; department goals, policies and procedures*, government structure and process*
Ability to troubleshoot computer systems and networks; define problems, collect and collate data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and determine specific actions; interpret a variety of technical material expressed both verbally and written in books, articles, manuals, etc.; maintain accurate records and documentation; prepare meaningful, accurate, and concise technical reports; communicate effectively in written, oral, and picture form; understand and discuss abstract data; handle documents and data of a sensitive or confidential nature; establish an effective rapport with employees, officials, vendors, and external agencies; cooperate with others on group projects; train others on technical systems and procedures
