Job description
Acts as the custodian, steward, and advocate of the City's Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Works independently and under the supervision of GIS management to administer Enterprise GIS. Provides GIS solutions including data creation, data analysis, web application development, and software support such as Enterprise Geodatabase (GDB) and ArcGIS to fulfill citywide GIS needs. Mentors lower-level staff and proactively participates in knowledge transfer. Serves as team lead on major GIS projects and upgrades., * Serves as lead technical resource providing deliverables on projects, serves as Team Lead on major projects and upgrades, and mentors other team members to proactively participate in knowledge transfer
- Works with all City users to determine issues and provides support as required (including installing software)
- Ensures service desk requests are consistently and effectively resolved and documented
- Oversees creation and updates of data in GIS (ArcMap and ArcPro) and assist when needed for special projects
- Requires familiarity with COGO toolbar for parcel creation and plat/deed interpretation as well as interpretating engineering documents
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience with Feature Datasets, Classes, Versioning, Coded Domains, and Subtypes
- Preferred experience with Geometric Network Datasets, Utility Network Datasets, Archiving, GDB Compression, GBD Indexing
- Extensive knowledge of ArcGIS Administrator (License Manager)
- Knowledge of creating and managing users in GDB
- Preferred experience managing and documenting schedules for GDB maintenance (Compression, Indexing, Upgrades, Updates, Patches)
- Coordinates with DBA to manage production, test, and backup environments
- Administer ESRI GIS enterprise web server software under GIS management
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Server Endpoints and Portal
- Extensive knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop, Server, Portal, online environment and relationships
- Knowledge of publishing and organizing services for Portal and ArcGIS online for PC/Mobile device consumption
- Familiar with starting, stopping, and restarting services
- Create, document, and maintain repeatable build processes for web applications
- Utilizes knowledge and existing tools to create and analyze data to provide solutions for departmental requests through a combination of geoprocessing techniques such as Arc GIS Model Builder, ArcPy, and Python API, * Associate's Degree (AA/AS); or a two (2) year technical certificate
- Three (3) years of experience

- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
