Job description
Regions is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Origination Technology team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining customer-facing web applications that support critical business functions. The ideal candidate is a strong Full Stack Engineer with deep expertise in React and modern frontend development, complemented by experience building scalable backend services using .NET. This position is part of a collaborative Agile team responsible for delivering cloud-native applications and APIs. While the role includes full-stack responsibilities, there is a strong emphasis on frontend architecture, user experience, and modern web application development. The team currently leverages Kubernetes-based environments and is strategically transitioning toward AWS-hosted solutions. The successful candidate will take ownership of application features from design through deployment, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and help drive modernization initiatives across the platform. Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using React and .NET technologies
- Build responsive, scalable, and secure internet-facing web applications
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices that support business-critical functionality
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, UX designers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in the design and implementation of cloud-native applications and distributed systems
- Contribute to application deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence within Kubernetes environments
- Support the organization's cloud transformation initiatives, including migration efforts toward AWS
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and system performance issues
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes
- Analyze existing systems and recommend enhancements that improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience developing modern web applications using React and TypeScript/JavaScript
- Experience building backend services and APIs using .NET / C#
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native application development and containerized environments
- Experience working with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming, and scalable architecture

- Experience with AWS services and cloud-hosted application architectures
- Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Knowledge of frontend performance optimization and accessibility standards
